What is an Orthodontist?

Orthodontists are uniquely qualified specialists who diagnose, prevent and treat dental and facial irregularities to correctly align teeth and jaws. After graduating from dental school, they complete two to three years of specialized education in an accredited Orthodontic residency program.

Expert Consultation

Dr. Emeline Belen Abay is trained in the latest technology and has completed five years of post-graduate training — three years more than the required two year program — as a specialist in orthodontics.

  Metal Braces
These traditional braces are the most popular brackets. We offer the traditional bracket that uses color ties, as well as metal self ligating brackets that use small metal clips to hold the arch wire into the bracket instead of the colored ties.
  Ceramic Braces
Clarity ADVANCED Ceramic Braces were developed to help you achieve a beautiful smile with the comfort and quality you deserve.
• A small and comfortable design featuring rounded corners to reduce irritation and rubbing.
• Translucent material that blends with your teeth, providing virtually unnoticeable treatment and allowing you to smile confidently.
  Clear Aligners
This modern orthodontic treatment is highly popular among those who wish to straighten their teeth discreetly. Clear Aligner orthodontics is a system of customized plastic trays that are worn day and night, with the exception of when you are eating, brushing and flossing. The invisible trays are switched out every couple of weeks until a desirable result is achieved. There will be limitations to this treatment compared to traditional braces, especially for severe orthodontic problems.
  Emergency Care
Orthodontic problems can occur at any time during treatment, but most problems concern complications with appliances. Be sure to follow the instructions provided to you for caring for your orthodontic appliance. This may include avoiding hard or chewy foods like ice and caramel candies, and being sure to wear mouth guards to protect fixed appliances during high-impact activity.
