Orthodontic Treatment
Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that specializes in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental and facial irregularities. The practice of orthodontics requires professional skill in the design, application and control of corrective appliances to bring teeth, lips and jaws into proper alignment and achieve facial balance.
We like to suggest your child be seen no later than the age of seven, but it is never too late to have orthodontic treatment. Our patients range from ages 3 to 80. The treatment time varies on each patient depending on their needs. Some patients benefit from Early Treatment or Phase I to address urgent issues. This may decrease the treatment time for Phase II or avoid more serious problems, sometimes requiring jaw surgery.
It is important to remember that successful orthodontic treatment is a team effort between the orthodontist and the patient.
Everyone wants a beautiful smile, but more importantly, everyone should have a healthy one. The orthodontist’s goal is to achieve both for the patient.
